**Job Title**:English Language Assessor

**Responsible to**:Registrar

**Job Purpose**

In conjunction with the Admissions Manager who is in charge of the Admissions at LCC, the English Language Assessor will be responsible to ensure that LCC attracts and recruits students with the right level of English into the right programmes. This will ensure high student satisfaction, improve students’ chances of successful completion of their programme.

**General responsibilities**
- Assess students’ English Language level through a Speaking, Listening, Reading & Writing English Language Test
- Regularly prepare, create and update all English Language Testing (ELA) materials (every semester)
- Invigilate the in-house English tests.
- Complete an ELT Assessment Information sheet for each student with relevant feedback on their ELT performance as well as providingan IELTS equivalent score & send this information to the Admissions team
- Record all student Speaking & Listening ELTs using Audacity
- Advise on LCC’s English Language Assessment Policy
- Continue to review LCC’s ELT and advise on any appropriate changes needed
- Take part in standardisation of the ELTs in each intake
- Work with the Quality Assurance team to ensure the documenting of the ELT policy, process and individual student ELT results
- ensure detailed and accurate records are maintained, e.g. recordingstudent information, ELT results and feedback
- Conduct academic English development session for existing students
- To carry out such other duties as are within the scope and spirit of the job purpose, the title of the post and the grading

**Skills, knowledge and experience required**
- CELTA/DELTA qualification
- Assessor Certificate in English as a Foreign Language
- Experience in assessing students’ English Language level
- Experience in creating English Language Test materials
- Understanding of differing cultures, gained through practical experience
- Clear organisational skills and ability to use own initiative to manage work load
- Highly organised, focused and good planning skills
- Ability to work speedily and accurately to ensure that deadlines are met
- The ability to work across cultures and different cultural environments

**Salary**:Negotiable

**Job Types**: part time 3 days a week to include Saturday
