Our clinical team are recruiting for an experienced **Dual Diagnosis Nurse** to join them in providing high-quality recovery care to a diverse service user group in **North Somerset**.

The postholder will bring dual diagnosis (mental health and substance use) expertise to work across substance misuse, community, and acute mental health services.
As part of this role, you will be a core member of our multidisciplinary team, participating in the provision of on-going assessments, care planning, treatment, and support to promote health, independence, and recovery.
You will take forward a small caseload of complex cases requiring ongoing support, ensuring clinical record-keeping is maintained and that you are monitoring the effectiveness of care delivery.
It will be vital for you to develop strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders and commissioners for the continuity of service, acting as a champion for We Are With You.
This Dual Diagnosis Nurse position is full-time for 37.5 hours per week.
**What we're looking for**
You will be a compassionate and motivated nurse, with the ability to connect quickly with the people we support, treating them respectfully and with dignity. This is a busy team, with multiple priorities ongoing, so it's important that you are highly organisedand able to manage your time effectively.
You will have sound experience of comprehensive assessment of need, including risk assessments and be able to implement and evaluate patient care and act accordingly if untoward changes occur.
Working knowledge of substance misuse and an independent prescribing qualification would be advantageous, but we are open to conversations with all suitably qualified applicants. Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do, witha positive and engaging approach to our service users.

**Essential Skills**
- 2 years minimum post registration experience in a healthcare setting
- Evidence of personal and professional development in nursing since registration
- Relevant healthcare experience working with clients affected by substance misuse
- A successful track record of providing high-quality care
- Demonstrable experience of comprehensive assessment of need including risk assessments
- Knowledge of safe storage, handling, and administration of drugs and in particular controlled drugs
- Knowledge and understanding of NMC Code of Conduct
- Knowledge of risk assessment and management and its implementation
- Understanding of the roles, responsibilities, and structures of agencies involved in responding to drug and alcohol issues
- Ability to assess plans, implement and evaluate patient care, and act accordingly if untoward changes occurred
- Ability to plan and prioritise own workload
- Ability to positive engage service users

- Ability to provide and accept feedback, support, and clinical/managerial supervision
- Ability to treat patients with respect and dignity
- Effective written and communication skills
- Good IT skills
- Flexibility in working in different locations to include where clinical cover is required
- Able to meet With You's safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced DBS/PVG certificate
- Ability to work flexible and unsocial hours as required in order to deliver required care in agreement with line manager and other healthcare professionals

**Desirable Skills**
- Studied to Degree Level
- Post basic study covering substance misuse and blood-borne viruses
- Qualified to perform immunisation and vaccinations
- Mentorship Course/ENB 998 or equivalent or willingness to undertake
- Minimum 12-months post registration experience
- Experience of delivering mental health nursing interventions in a community setting
- Experience in delivering structured psychosocial interventions
- Knowledge and awareness about current developments in drug and alcohol issues
- Thorough awareness of drugs and their effects, models of intervention and treatment, relevant legislation, and issues and debates in the drugs and alcohol field
- Experience of planning and providing harm reduction initiatives and recovery solutions in a substance misuse setting
