**About the Role**

The Category Assistant is responsible for supporting the Category team in the planning and developing of product ranges to meet the needs of our target customers.The Category Assistant will carry out tasks and work on projects specific to hitting the teamtargets.The role is varied and involves close working with Category Managers, the catalogue production team, in house photographer, the e-commerce team and marketing.The role requires excellent communication skills, an enthusiastic approach and a can-doattitude.

**About the Accountabilities**
- Supporting the Category team with catalogue, mailers and web proofing to ensure accuracy resulting in less customer queries
- Assist with market, customer and competitor research ensuring up to date information is available helping to make the best decisions and maintain a competitive advantage in the market
- Plan new product communication days and documents so that the business is up to date with any new product launches giving confidence to the teams when relaying new product information to customers
- Arrange supplier new product days helping the team to ensure all key product gaps are filled
- Manage exhibition and event plans so that all key events are attended ensuring we keep up with market trends
- Respond to customer queries keeping to the agreed SLA’s
- Upload new products onto the catalogue management system
- Source and collate data for new product introductions
- Organise photos, samples and in-situ images
- Support the Category team with price analysis
- Work together with the Merchandising team to pull together relevant product content
- Management of data upload sheets with IT
- Generate reports
