**Accounts Payable Lead**
My client, a distinctive London-based law firm, are recruiting for an accounts payable lead is to ensure that the AP team is being managed effectively and assisting the financial controller in some of the accounting tasks and ad hoc projects.
**Responsibilities**:
- Supervising and managing the entire accounts payable team and ensuring effective operation including all deliverables are completed within an established time frame;
- assisting with month end/posting journals and initiating controls where necessary;
- assisting in the year end process including interaction with the auditors;
- maintaining and ensuring prepayment and accrual policies are followed;
- maintaining the fixed asset register for the group;
- assisting in the month end accounts where necessary;
- producing the VAT return for London and Brussels;
- resolving internal & external queries effectively;
- ensure all process documents are up to date; and
- assisting in any ad hoc process/project.
**About you**:
- qualified accountant with two years’ PQE (ACCA) or qualified by experience (upward of five years);
- you will have a previous experience of working within an account function, ideally in a professional services environment;
- experience of legal systems is desirable. Good keyboard skills and competence in Word, Excel and Outlook are required;
- you must be able to demonstrate high levels of drive, determination, and focus;
- possess the ability to follow instruction and be able to work and communicate with suppliers and colleagues at all levels;
- it is essential that the you have an eye for detail and the ability to act positively, creatively and intuitively when presented with challenges;
- the job holder is expected to work within the established SRA rules and departmental procedures; and
- there is a high volume of work to process and the job holder will be expected to prioritise and use their initiative and commercial sense to ensure that queries are resolved efficiently and effectively.
**Salary**: £55,000.00-£62,000.00 per year
