**Company Description**

Culina Group, a well established leader in the logistics market is recruiting for a **EHS Manager**on a permanent basis to be based at one of our sites in the Chesterfield area with travel required.

**The role holder will be responsible for but not limited to the following**:

- To deliver the Company’s safety management systems, to advise on the performance of risk assessments and the review of SSOW to contribute recommendations for improvements.
- To provide specialist support and advice in the investigation of incidents and to coach operational managers on incident reporting if required.
- To provide specialist safety advice to management on and control of health, safety and welfare matters and on the development of working practices that comply with relevant legislation and are in scope of ISO standards and principles.
- To contribute to the development of H&S strategy, risk plans and the delivery of policies and practices to support them actively contributing to the ESH targets and safety awareness.
- To disseminate information on safety matters throughout the business and, in conjunction with the safety committees, input to and implement programmes to promote a positive safety culture within the sector.
- In conjunction with operational managers, support the design and delivery of a comprehensive programme of safety training, tailored for the needs of each job role within the business.
- Ensuring Depots adopt appropriate Health and Safety targets and standards for their own areas of responsibility in the control of loss and operation of best safety practice.
- To analyse incident trends for continuous improvement
- To aid the delivery of Company energy reduction commitments
- Monitoring and auditing safety performance in regards to:
1. Internal safety systems

2. Statutory requirements

3. Industry benchmark standards UK

4. Industry benchmark standards European

**Qualifications**
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with appropriate representatives of the HSE / LA and any other appropriate external bodies
- Assessing the competence of external contractors and maintaining the approved contractor listing.
- Compiling written briefs to update the business on changes to legislation, codes of practice, industry best practice or other sources.
- A minimum 5 years experience in a H&S Role
- Previous experience of Health & Safety within industry, ideally transport and logistics but not essential
- Knowledge / experience of COMAH would be an advantge
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Able to work to tight deadlines and manage their own time effectively
- Willing to travel as required within the UK
- Thorough understanding of current Health & Safety Legislation and its implementation within the workplace
- NEBOSH Certificate
- Member of IOSH
