London, United Kingdom East London NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Are you interested in a career as a CBT Practitioner? Would you like to be involved in developing an innovative new service delivering support directly to the school environment?

Newham CAMHS are excited to be recruiting to 2 full time posts as Children & Young Peoples CBT Practitioners within the Mental Health in Schools Support Team (MHST).

The post-holder will work within Newham CAMHS Mental Health Support Team providing assessments and interventions in and around local schools. It is especially suited to CWP / PWP / EMHPs or those who have professional registration within their chosen profession, for example, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or alternative therapies.

The Mental Health Support Teams are funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community. There is a specific focus on developing more access to helping and improving the general culture of emotional support within all primary and secondary schools including special educational provisions and PRUs. Working alongside community partners the Mental Health Support Teams will be fully integrated with community CAMHS and educational settings.

We are looking for confident CAMHS professionals who are keen to develop their skills in providing evidence-based interventions to children and young people within schools. You will have a demonstrable track record of providing collaborative and supportive interventions with children, young people, families, and parents/carers. The community served is multi-ethnic and culturally diverse and we welcome applicants who are skilled at working with the richness and complexity of this multicultural context.

We offer an exciting and dynamic environment where your ideas and career development will be valued. You will be supported directly by senior colleagues, and we will develop the service together.
