**Job summary**:

- This is a role for a suitably experienced property professional to support the management of the EET department’s land and property portfolio (North & Mid Wales region) to ensure the value and performance of the property assets in achieving wider property programme objectives are maximised.

**Job description**:

- Contribute to the day-to-day management of the Department's land and property asset portfolio.
- Working to the North & Mid Wales Property Surveyor and North & Mid Wales Regional Team leader, to independently manage a discrete caseload of North & Mid Wales landlord and tenant relationship issues, negotiation of leases, tenancies and contracts and property disposals, in a compliant manner and instruct internal legal advisors to achieve timely completion.
- Liaise with internal and external professionals, clients and legal advisers.
- Manage existing facilities management contracts/arrangements in a timely and compliant manner to ensure, in particular, statutory health and safety compliance.
- Collate property information and present it in a suitable format.
- Undertake budgetary and financial management competently.
- With support from the Property Surveyor, undertake property negotiations, instruct lawyers and prepare contracts, in accordance with relevant and up to date land and property legislation.
- Prepare accurate and clearly written reports for submission to the Property Leadership Team to consider regarding property transactions.
- Deal with FOI requests in a timely and competent manner.
- Draft submissions and briefings to Ministers and replies to Ministerial correspondence and Welsh Government questions.
- Potential future opportunity for line management responsibility.

**Person specification**:
The post offers an outstanding opportunity to work in a high-profile area of delivery, supporting economic development activity in the North & Mid Wales region. The property management function supports wider department and Welsh Government objectives.

The land and property portfolio are diverse and will provide the post holder with a wide and varied workload in support of their personal and professional development in property surveying and commercial estate management.

It provides an important intervention and role in the supply and availability of premises in the commercial marketplace and in providing accommodation available for both indigenous and inward investment companies, be they existing or new businesses.

The job holder will be required to make frequent site visits to properties across North & Mid Wales. Any applicant not based in North & Mid Wales will need to demonstrate how the service can be delivered whilst maintaining wellbeing given the time and distances involved in covering the region satisfactorily.
