We have an opportunity for a **Mental Health Support Worker**to join us in our recovery unit in **Tooting**, Southwest London.You will join us on a **full-time, permanent basis** working 30 hours per week across a rota basis from Monday to Sunday. In return, we are offering a**competitive salary of £10.60per hour**and a real opportunity to develop your career and experience in the mental health support field.

**Servol Community Services**is an established charity providing person-centered support to adults affected by and recovering from mental health conditions. Support is provided to people in accommodation that meets their needs, including residential24 hour staffed services and semi-supported accommodation.

**Key duties and responsibilities of our Mental Health Recovery Worker include**:

- Providing a range of one-to-one support to service users and helping them to develop the skills and support networks to enable them to live independently in the community
- Encouraging and empowering service users to contribute fully to their support plan by making informed choices
- Working in a person-centered way to create opportunities for service user’s personal development and growth
- Completing a range of reports and daily logs accurately and clearly
- Liaising proactively with external agencies (such as CPNs, Social Workers, Community Mental Health Teams, etc.) and family/friends of service users
- Attending workshops and team meetings regularly and participating in all learning opportunities
- Looking for improvements and best practices to enhance the service user experience and to help create a great local work culture
- Prompting or administering medication accurately and keeping all records up to date
- Reporting any issues to the Manager/Deputy/Senior colleagues that may impact the safety and quality of support

**Skills and experience required to become our Mental Health Recovery Worker**:

- Experience in supporting vulnerable adults with mental health/physical health conditions and challenges
- Experience in administering medication to service users (not essential but a great advantage)
- Experience in working within a residential setting or day service

Good written and verbal skills and ability to convey information clearly

Confident using MS Office package and completing accurate online reports

A working understanding of procedures for the protection of vulnerable adults (POVA) and the Mental Health Act

A positive and person-centered attitude towards working with people experiencing mental health conditions
