**WordPress Designer - Job Description**

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Design, create, build, and launch new websites.
- Manage website projects from the initial customer meeting to the day-to-day website maintenance.
- Write content for websites.
- Edit photos for website speed optimisations.
- Make design/ content changes and keep up-to-date existing websites.
- Design sales and marketing materials (business cards, posters, exhibition material) and send them to print.

**Essential skills**:

- Able to make a website live within a WordPress infrastructure.
- Knowledge of WordPress, Photoshop including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP.
- Design and create WordPress websites with customer themes, page templates, customer post types.
- Deliver clean, crisp SEO optimised websites that are both visually appealing and results driven.
- Understand Google Page Speed insights to improve website speed scores.
- Able to inspect UI designs and mock-ups.
- Adobe photoshop design skills for logo and brand development.

**Desired but not essential skills**
- Understanding of UX/ UI principles.
- SEO - Knowledge & best practice utilising Yoast, WordPress, Google Search Console.
- Understanding of usability testing.
- Understanding of web accessibility and web design best practices.
- Keeping up to date with web design trends.

**Person Specification**:

- Suitable for a Graduate or someone with 1-2 years’ experience.
- Good written and presentation skills with an eye for detail.
- Team player with good interpersonal/communication skills and an ability to work across various teams.
- A strong work ethic and excellent time management.
- The ability to work well under pressure, consistently delivering on time to a high standard.
- A positive attitude with the ability to make an effective contribution to our team.
- You must be eligible to work in the UK.
- It is desirable for you to have your own transport as this is an office-based role.
- This role is based at our Bristol office, 3 days in the office and 2 at home.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Graduate

Pay: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
