We are seeking a passionate Head of Department (Farm Shop), to take overall responsibility for the Farm Shop & Gift Barn operations including strategy, people leadership, profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, deliveries, staffing, health & safety, and regulatory compliance.

Working closely with the Head of Retail and Shop Floor Manager, the post holder will be responsible for the financial and reputational success of the Farm Shop and Gift Barn.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and execute strategic plans to drive sales, enhance profitability, and achieve business objectives.
- Oversee the profit and loss (P&L) performance of the Farm Shop, analysing financial data to make informed decisions.
- Lead and motivate a team to deliver exceptional customer service and meet sales targets.
- Manage stock levels, pricing strategies, and product assortment to optimise profitability.
- Complete an agreed percentage of buying for the shop.
- Communicate business sustainability objectives to the wider team.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation such Health and Safety, and the labelling of allergens and ingredients.
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- A love of retail and a genuine interest in high-quality food, and food trends.
- A commercial mindset with an understanding of the effect of current affairs on business.
- Experience with financial data, KPI management and data analysis.
- Hands on leader who thrives on working with people.

**Hours of Work**
- Average of 5 days per week, on a rotating fortnightly rota.
- Between the hours of 0730 - 1730; exact hours to be discussed.
- Will include alternate weekends.
