**About Cognita**
Cognita is a global leader in independent education. Founded in 2004, we are a growing community of 100+ schools in 16 countries - in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East - serving more than 85,000 students. Each of our schools are proudly unique, however our collective purpose is to create an environment where everyone can, ‘Thrive in a rapidly evolving world’.
**About the role**
Cognita, a global leader in K-12 education with over 100 schools in 17 countries, is leveraging technology to enhance teaching, learning, and operational efficiency. Historically, local decisions on education technology have led to a fragmented landscape, creating inefficiencies and missed opportunities for standardisation. The Head of Education Technology (EdTech) & Innovation will provide strategic leadership to define and implement a unified EdTech strategy, ensuring robust governance and alignment with educational priorities. This role collaborates with education and digital learning teams to integrate technology effectively, driving innovation with emerging technologies like AI and VR. Reporting to the Group IT Director and the Group Chief Education Officer, the role focuses on simplifying and standardising EdTech platforms while accommodating local needs.
**Your key accountabilities**:
You will be developing and implementing a unified EdTech strategy, ensuring effective governance of technology platforms, and driving innovation through emerging technologies like AI and VR. You’ll review and optimise the current EdTech landscape, standardise technology usage across regions, and collaborate with Digital Learning teams to align with educational goals. Additionally, you’ll establish governance frameworks, manage compliance and risks, and foster relationships with regional leaders. Finally, you’ll lead innovation initiatives, measure their success, and promote best practices to position the group as a leader in K-12 education innovation.
**Who we are looking for**:
We're looking for a visionary leader with the ability to articulate and deliver a cohesive EdTech strategy. You should have exceptional stakeholder management skills to align global objectives with local needs and secure buy-in across diverse regions. Highly organised, you will focus on delivering measurable outcomes and driving operational excellence. Broad technical and operational knowledge of EdTech platforms, including MIS, LMS, and digital learning tools, is essential. You should be a proactive problem-solver, capable of addressing challenges with innovative and practical solutions.
**Qualifications**:
- Educated to Degree level in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar.
**Experience**:
- Proven experience in defining and implementing technology strategies at scale within education or similar industries.
- Extensive experience working in a global or multinational organisation, with an understanding of the complexities of diverse cultural and regional contexts.
- Strong experience in technology leadership, with a proven track record of driving strategy, governance, and innovation at scale.
**Other**:
- Passionate about technology and education, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead innovation initiatives, particularly in leveraging emerging technologies for education and operational improvement.
- Self-motivated, with high energy, resilience, and a passion for driving change in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptable and collaborative, with a talent for navigating complex, multicultural organisations.
**Benefits at Cognita**
