Senior Designer

Are you a passionate and creative Senior Designer ready to make a significant impact on our brand's look and feel across all channels? As a Senior Designer at Pets at Home, you'll be a key driver in maintaining brand consistency and pushing the boundaries of design innovation. Reporting to the Head of Creative and Design, you will lead our creative endeavours and mentor fellow creatives within the team. We're seeking an individual with a keen eye for detail, a flair for ideation, and a knack for producing stunning designs - from concept to execution.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Ensure brand consistency across all design projects, cultivating our evolving brand world.
- Set a high standard for craft and attention-to-detail within the department.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, nurturing their creative growth.
- Exhibit strong conceptual thinking while delivering polished design work.
- Generate innovative ideas and conduct thorough research to fuel your creativity.
- Contribute to creative, strategic thinking, maintaining strong art direction throughout projects.
- Lead design output from concept to production, understanding project phase requirements.
- Champion the integration of copy within your creative output.
- Craft compelling presentations, effectively conveying your vision to stakeholders.
- Communicate concisely and challenge briefs when necessary.
- Engage in diverse projects such as brand identity, campaigns, packaging, and more.
- Stay updated on design and market trends to influence design direction.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness, collaborating with sales and marketing to extract value through design.
- Meet production schedules and deadlines for all communications.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, at varying levels of complexity.
- Drive process improvements for enhanced efficiency in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate closely with Head of Brand and Creative, external agencies, and other teams to bring campaigns to life.
- Deliver quality creative that aligns with business objectives and resonates with internal clients.
**Essential Experience**
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role, whether in-house, studio, or freelance.
- Proven history as a stand-alone creative, generating impactful ideas for multiple channels.
- Self-starter with a positive attitude, known for going beyond the brief.
- Well-connected to creative culture and emerging industry trends, with a broad perspective.
- A portfolio showcasing diverse and inspiring design work.
- Ability to think big and small, displaying both creative ambition and attention to detail.
- Record of delivering unique and differentiating work.
- Experience building captivating storytelling decks from scratch.
- Confident and articulate presenter.
- Thriving in a fast-paced creative environment, producing consistently high-quality output.
- Strong multitasking abilities, focusing on priorities while balancing multiple work streams.
- Understanding of customer journeys and responsive marketing techniques.
Hybrid working: Office based working from our Handforth (Cheshire) Support Office for 2 days a week
