**About us**
Are you experienced in working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs or who have experienced Developmental Trauma? Are you looking to develop your career with an organisation that’s dedicated to changing young lives for the better?
At Witherslack Group’s outstanding schools and homes, we’re dedicated to helping children and young people with complex, challenging needs. We offer expert care and first-rate facilities, all designed to support and speed the development of young lives. As a Therapies Assistant, you’ll make a huge difference, playing a big part in creating more positive outcomes through this highly rewarding role. And there’s plenty of positives for you too - we’ll help you develop your abilities with training and opportunities to support your personal development and knowledge.
**The role**
**This role is based at Millcourt School, Shelf, Halifax**
Working under the direct supervision of the onsite Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist you’ll support in the gathering of information for high quality assessments and in the running of one to one and small group interventions. As your confidence and knowledge grows, you will also have the opportunity to be involved in the delivery of training to school staff. You will work to deliver the best results for the children and young people who live and learn with us. Working as part of the team around the child, you’ll liaise with parents, carers, colleagues and partner agencies to support the best outcomes for our children and young people. Some of our children and young people may exhibit very challenging behaviour, so resilience and empathy will be key.
**Your profile**
With at least 5 GCSEs (including English), you’ll have worked with children and young people with SEMH and/or SEN in similar or other roles. With this background, you’ll know all about safeguarding rules and practice.
Crucially, you share the Witherslack ethos of offering the very highest standards of care to deliver the best outcomes for young people in all our homes and schools.
As the role is school based, you will work term-time only from Monday to Friday (37 hour week).
**Rewards**
We know you’re going to do great things. We offer a salary and benefits package that’s among the best in our sector. You’ll receive a competitive salary, contributory pension (matched up to 5%) and comprehensive induction and ongoing training, as well as extensive Group staff benefits such as Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance and Cycle to Work Scheme.
