As the Digital Content Lead you will support the Digital Content Manager to plan, create and co-ordinate best in class digital content that maximises sales, conversion and digital participation. Working with our colleagues in the Digital Operations Centre in Mumbai to create content that supports the category strategies, the quarterly promotion plan and the SEO content strategy. Using analytics and assessing the effectiveness of content to make data-driven decisions, is in our DNA. You will have an extensive stakeholder map and be focussed on delivering a content plan that aligns to wider business and customer needs.

Your role could cover any of the key elements of Digital Content including: Insight & research, Supplier Shops, Help & FAQ and Category Planning (including Home, our category of strategic importance).

**What you need to do**

Work with the Digital Content Manager to develop & deliver content strategies that supports the business commercial priorities.

Offering advice and guidance to the content colleagues in the Digital Operations Centre to use a variety of content types to create an engaging and inspiring experience across the categories and guide customers to research and buy the right products from any of our digital channels.

Act as content lead for category, events and promotional projects ensuring all content requirements are developed and delivered on time.

Continually analyse the effectiveness of the content using web analytics and make recommendations to improve content based on data.

Work closely with the Digital Trading team and marketing team to execute promotions in line with the marketing calendar, ensuring the customer experience is optimal and messaging is on brand.

Be a brand guardian across our General Merchandising category when it comes to Tone of Voice, Copywriting and beyond. Continuously seek opportunities to improve experiences through tone and in doing so coach our Digital Operations Centre colleagues on this.

Build strong relationships with the Ecommerce team, the marketing team, the commercial teams, the product information teams and the video & photography teams.

Play a role in our ‘monetisation of content strategy’ where relevant - in particular driving our supplier shops agenda and forecast. Working with finance you will build out our plan for the year, and then collaboratively deliver against it with Digital Trading.

**What you need to know and show**
- A passion for Digital Content and a proven track record for delivering results. You are likely to have a minimum of 2 years, highly relevant work experience within an online retail environment.
- A solid understanding how to use natural search in copy and metadata and a passion to learn more about how content can enable better SEO outcomes.
- Ability to demonstrate a clear customer obsession in all aspects of role.
- A sense of the market in which we operate; a good holistic understanding of the Digital landscape and wider retail environment.
- Capable of influencing to a senior level across the wider Digital teams & operating companies that constitute Sainsbury’s Argos while appreciating the differing cultures & priorities prevalent.
- Capable of securing support for proposals & plans across functions.

**What decisions I can make including budget**

Job holder has no direct responsibilities for budgets. However, budget may need to be sought by other teams to facilitate some projects.

Job holder needs to be aware of financial impacts of decisions and to ensure risks and opportunities are mitigated / flagged to budget holder.

Key focus on conversion driving activities for your area of accountability.

**Directly or indirectly manages**

The Digital Content Lead role will have a cross functional network of internal stakeholders spanning Traders, Digital and Marketing as well as external suppliers where the category requires it..
