**The Role**:
We are looking to recruit a **Head of Packages Pricing** to look after our non-motor commercial package products. This is a wide-ranging role and you will be responsible for delivering, planning and implementing all price recommendations for your area as well as owning the longer term strategy and leading a team of 3-4 analysts. There is a large trading focus in this role which means you’ll be involved in trading performance meetings and working with stakeholders across the business to drive the profitability and trading performance of your business area.
**N.B This role is predominantly home working however our P&U teams are split across our Leeds and London offices and there will be ad-hoc travel required to these sites.**
**The team you’ll join**:
You’ll join our Commercial Lines team who play an increasingly meaningful part of Direct Line Group's success story. Going forward, there are ambitious plans to deliver further performance improvements through a pricing transformation programme that requires using improved risk, geo and demand models, having an improved data infrastructure, and having access to an advanced suite of analytical tools.
**What you’ll be doing**:
- Own and deliver pricing for Commercial Lines Packages products to support day-to-day trading performance targets and the pricing strategy
- Manage, lead and develop a team of analysts, developing and shaping the direction of the Commercial Lines Packages pricing team and contributing towards the wider development of skills across the pricing and underwriting department
- Liaise with a wide variety of teams to shape, own and deliver your teams pricing strategy, working effectively with distribution teams, marketing, operations, wider pricing and underwriting teams and other areas. Use your knowledge, negotiation skills and specialist technical knowledge to deliver upon objectives and to grow shareholder value
- Provide CoE oversight and pricing support to DL4B pricing tribe, including product specific and general technical pricing expertise
- Actively contribute to the strategic risk appetite for your area, challenging senior stakeholders using your market and technical knowledge
- Contribute to the setting of pricing controls and ensure they are followed concerning rate testing, implementation and adherence to the wider company risk appetite
- Share ownership of suite of models for Package products with the Head of Pricing Development, with a specific focus on championing machine learning modelling and deployment into production environments
- Deliver ongoing improvements to rating through leveraging external and internal data sources, and overall ownership of solution delivering address level data to all Commercial products.
**What you'll need**:
- A desire to inspire, motivate and coach others, previous people management experience isn’t essential, but it would be useful if you can demonstrate how you have supported, coached and mentored others
- Proven experience in delivering business targets in an analytical/actuarial environment
- Proven experience and ability to deal with Executive level stakeholders
- Project Management experience
