Job Introduction
This role sits in Route Services, a business area that has been created to supply services to the routes in the safest, most cost-efficient and effective way, enabling them to benefit from economies of scale and optimised national resources.

Main Responsibilities
Assist in the development and delivery of Route Services Telecoms ‘assurance framework, undertake audits and reviews of Telecoms activities as appropriate to assure programme delivery and develop, with other Telecoms managers, remediation activities as necessary.
- Deliver a core programme of audits to cover all aspects of Telecoms activities and the delivery of its offerings; deliver reports of audit findings and technical non-compliances.
- Plan, co-ordinate and undertake formal and informal assurance audits to assess the effectiveness of, and compliance with, business critical rules, guidance notes and other management directives.
- Participate in cross-functional audits as required under the Telecoms assurance programme and assist in the delivery of other corporate assurance mechanisms.
- Maintain the corporate tracker system with all relevant derogations for Telecoms and support the effective resolution of non-compliances by Telecoms managers.
- Assist in the development of Telecoms business processes through the identification of best practice during audit and assurance activities.
- Verify the effectiveness of the audit framework and protocols and contribute to the development and enhancement of Telecoms’ audit programme and associated processes and capabilities.
- Contribute to increasing assurance awareness across Telecoms, creating a culture of risk-based decision-making supported by robust operational self-assurance.
- Liaise with other corporate, functional and route assurance teams on issues arising from audits.
- Degree, or equivalent, in relevant discipline.
- Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills.
- Proven experience of governance and assurance frameworks.
- Proven experience of audit management and delivery.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
- Lead Auditor qualified (IATCA / IRCA).

**Desirable but not essential**
- Knowledge of asset data and information management, processes and techniques.
- Associate membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status.
- Experience of governance and assurance frameworks in a programme environment.
