**JOB PURPOSE**
- To provide vital legal support to the easyJet business, working as a member of a highly regarded Legal team which is responsible for the provision of commercially-minded legal advice and support to the business.
- In particular, this role will predominantly provide support to the Corporate, CoSec and Sustainability teams, with the opportunity to support other areas when the need arises.
- This role reports to the Head of Legal, Corporate, Finance, Procurement & Ops.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Support Heads of Legal and CoSec on sustainability related contracts/projects (e.g. carbon credit agreements, joint ventures/partnerships, investments, green finance, etc.)
- Identify and define eJ’s global ESG regulatory landscape.
- In addition to working closely with the Sustainability team, individual to work with CoSec, Risk & Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Marketing, IR on ESG legal/regulatory matters, requests for ESG information, reviewing/validating statements in external disclosures (including responses to inquiries, marketing, and advertising communications) for consistency with business representations and regulatory expectations related to ESG etc.
- Drafting, implementing/embedding new policies, procedures, and periodic reports for ESG compliance as well as advising on industry/best practice.
- Support eJ’s teams to formalise the integration of ESG considerations into business processes. For example, helping Procurement identify, assess, manage and control ESG risks within 3rd party suppliers and the supply chain.
- Undertake horizon scanning activities and analyse the impact of upcoming UK/EU sustainability and ESG laws/regulations. But also identify potential new opportunities for eJ driven by ESG legal/regulatory change.
- Take responsibility for corporate reporting currently shared across within General Counsel Office (GCO).
- Support Heads of Legal and CoSec on ad hoc ESG related queries.
- Designing and delivering training/education on ESG legal/regulatory related matters
- Produce written analysis and information (including conducting research, thought leadership, publications/materials and blogs) for internal and external audiences.
- Develop semi-formal network composed of eJ’s panel firms, suppliers, industry experts to maintain and build an understanding of the latest trends in sustainability and best practice and help eJ become a ‘first mover’ in this area.
- Along with other members of the Legal team, supporting the Senior Legal Leadership Team with continuous team improvement initiatives.

**KEY SKILLS REQUIRED**
- 3-5 PQE UK qualified lawyer (or non-UK equivalent).
- A demonstrable interest in corporate governance issues, sustainability issues, ESG laws/regulation, etc.
