Consultant in Emergency Medicine

Are you a locum A&E consultant who wants to increase your earnings? We are looking for an emergency medicine doctor to work for 3 months initially at a trust on a self-governing British island.

The trust will pay for your flight and accommodation is available but must be paid for by the Doctor. You will need accommodation as commuting to this island daily is not an option as flights and ferries run on a schedule. The price of accommodation on-site at the trust is approximately £600-£700 a month or £20-£30 a night.

The rota will be a 1:5 with one x 24-hour call in a week and 1 x 24-hour on-call on a weekend every 5 weeks. This will allow for breaks in your rota if you wish to visit home however additional flights will not be covered by the trust. You can get flights to and from major cities in the UK including Bristol, London, Liverpool, Manchester, Belfast, and Birmingham. Flights are from as little as £41 one way.

**Where you’ll be working**

The trust provides a dedicated 24-hour Emergency Department service for people who live or are visiting the island. All patients are assessed by a nurse using the triage system and will then be seen by clinical priority. The trust also has an Air Ambulance to be able to provide comprehensive care and offer specialist investigations and interventions at hospitals across the UK that cannot be provided on the island.
