Edinburgh, United Kingdom NatWest Group Full time

Our people work differently depending on their jobs and needs. From hybrid working to flexible hours, we have plenty of options that help our people to thrive.

This role is based in the United Kingdom and as such all normal working days must be carried out in the United Kingdom.

**Job description**:
Join us as a Consumer Affairs Lead
- We’ll look to you to help to promote and protect NatWest Group’s brand reputation
- You’ll be acting as a trusted adviser to Marketing on all aspects of external communications that impact our group brand, both in terms of opportunities and risks.
- If you’re ready for a new challenge and want to make a far-reaching impact through your work, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for

**What you'll do**:
As a Consumer Affairs Lead, you’ll be delivering high quality earned media coverage by working closely with Marketing and our integrated agency partners on communications campaigns that help us to reach and engage our target consumer audiences across our three franchise businesses.

You’ll be supporting the Head of Campaigns Content and Channels to define and deliver an annual consumer affairs programme of work that’s aligned with both Marketing and Corporate Affairs. Acting as the day-to-day point of contact for Marketing, you’ll be operating as an extension of their team and ensuring interlock with Corporate Affairs and our franchise teams on campaigns that touch our group brand.

You’ll also be:

- Providing counsel on amplifying marketing activation campaigns through earned media channels, identifying proactive opportunities and reputational risks, to add value to Marketing and their integrated agency partner
- Amplifying product and proposition launches from the franchises in earned media, aligning strategy and timing with brand and franchise marketing plans
- Making sure the consumer affairs programme of work is consistently aligned to brand and franchise marketing, by being an active participant in Marketing’s planning meetings and ensuring information is shared in a timely manner across Marketing and Corporate Affairs.
- Taking product and proposition briefs for consumer audiences from franchise stakeholders and agreeing prioritisation and resourcing with Marketing
- Developing and maintaining your own network of media contacts of relevance to NatWest, to add value to the integrated agency’s outreach and deliver better outcomes for the brand
- Sharing success by contributing to the regular reporting rhythms for both Corporate Affairs and Marketing to make sure we track progress for Consumer Affairs
- Managing the Digital PR Manager to deliver SEO strategy and digital campaigns.

**The skills you'll need**:
To take on this role, you’ll need a proven track record in consumer PR, with experience of working on household brands at an agency or in house. You’ll have a keen interest in consumer trends and how consumer PR can be used to support customer acquisition at the top of the funnel.

You’ll also need:

- Demonstrable experience of working in an integrated agency model.
- The ability to identify and tell stories that resonate with consumer audiences
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills that can be used to curate briefs, persuade stakeholders and influence outcomes
- Strong national, personal finance and consumer lifestyle media contacts
- Demonstrable interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to facilitate working in a complex organisation with multiple stakeholders
- A digital-first mindset that embraces data and is curious about new technology - with experience of SEO strategy for PR.
- To be detail oriented and highly organised, with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced and changeable environment
