Midwifery Team Leader

The role requires the post holder to have advanced clinical judgement to enable independent effective decision making, and to maintain confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business. To be accountable for his/her Midwifery practice which must always be in accordance with: The NMC Rules and Standards (2012) The NMC Code Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviours for Nurses and Midwives (2015) The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Trust policies, procedures and philosophy of care The role required close working relationships with the midwifery team and cross cover/team working with other Band 7 Midwives working in Antenatal Services. Utilise a creative/innovative approach to problem solving and service change/development. To notify NMC of Intention to Practice and pay annual fee.
To maintain professional development in accordance with revalidation. Maintain accurate records required by statute. Act as an ambassador for the Trust in professional and public settings and ensure confidentiality is maintained. Undertake initial review of complaints within antenatal services, liaising with the Management Team.
Report all incidents or accidents involving patients, visitors or staff and complete accurate statements and reports. Investigate and respond to issues appropriately. Maintain adequate Health, Safety and Fire Risk assessments for antenatal services liaising with departmental leads when necessary.
