Senior Commercial Intelligence Analyst

This role can be based in the South Region, including Birmingham, Bristol, Exeter, Basingstoke or Guildford.

As a Senior Commercial Intelligence Analyst, reporting to the Commercial Manager of the South Commercial Reporting Team, you will be responsible for:

- Gathering and interpreting stakeholder reporting requirements
- Transforming data into meaningful insights to meet stakeholder reporting requirements, accomplished through report design and development using BI tools
- Interpreting data, supporting the creation of information and intelligence, and recommending how the use of cost intelligence can improve performance and investment decisions.
- Providing advice and support to the team and stakeholders in developing National Highways capability as an informed and intelligent commercial client
- Providing support in evaluating and reporting the cost base and cost drivers on programmes within National Highways.

What you’ll be leading on
- Supporting the design and implementation of robust processes and systems for reporting solutions.
- Collecting and managing data and ensuring that it is relevant, timely and accurate.
- Supporting assurance on cost intelligence, ensuring that the quality of reporting withstands scrutiny internally and externally.
- Identifying and reporting opportunities for delivering increased and sustainable value for money, efficiency, and delivery of key performance indicators.
- Maintaining robust processes for efficiency generation, delivery, assurance governance and reporting.
- Supporting Senior Managers, and resolution of ad-hoc reporting requirements. Managing, developing and motivating line reports as appropriate, and ensuring that they comply with all relevant health and safety policy and processes.

- Commercial and financial management understanding
- Economic analysis understanding
- Process and system development experience
- Stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Good Excel and data management capability
- Familiar with Power BI report design and development
- Experience using SQL Server Management Studio and T-SQL
- Support the development of reporting cost intelligence within National Highways
- Detailed understanding of NH cost base and cost drivers
- Understanding of relevant key performance indicators, and factors affecting unit cost drivers and movement.
