Red Snapper Recruiting are currently looking for an experienced Local Intelligence Officer to work on a part-time, long-term contract based in Blackpool, Lancashire.

This role equates to approximately 15 hours per week.

**Job Purpose**:
To Provide an efficient and effective intelligence support function to the Force by researching, developing and actioning information and intelligence in order to support operational policing activities and produce quality National Intelligence Model (NIM)Products.

**Main responsibilities**:

- Assist with the provision of an effective and efficient intelligence service delivered by the Divisional Intelligence Unit.
- Research, develop and action information and intelligence directing tasking and resources accordingly,
- Update and maintain Connect briefing pages to ensure the Force is provided with a current, accurate and up to date intelligence picture.
- Ensure review, retention and deletion work is completed ensuring that accurate records are maintained following Data Protection and Management of Police Information (MoPI) principles at all times.
- Evaluate data and provide management information from both computerised and manually based records to support the work of the Divisional Intelligence Unit, including the identification of relationships, patterns and trends.
- Handle restricted and confidential material and intelligence reports appropriately.
- Liaise and establish good working relationships with Divisions, other Forces, and outside agencies in respect of intelligence matters to ensure excellent channels of communication and information sharing.
- Attend and contribute to briefings and other related meetings to provide intelligence related inputs to inform and direct tasking and resourcing accordingly.
- Respond positively and promptly to requests for guidance/advice on all issues relating to intelligence matters.
- Undertake any clerical and administrative duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the Intelligence Unit
- Work co-operatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and organisational objectives.
- Understand and assess compliance with MOPI, Data Protection Principles, Government Protective Marking Scheme and other relevant legislation.
- To undertake other duties and additional responsibilities which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities and grading of the post.

**Essential Knowledge and Experience**:

- Experience of interrogating and researching computer systems and databases.
- Experience of demonstrating a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly relating to the collection, collation and recording of information.
- Experience of inputting and maintaining computerised and manual filing / recording systems.
- Knowledge of operational policing and how information is utilised within the Police Force.
- Experience of working in a demanding, administrative role as a member of a multifunctional team dealing with confidential information.
- Experience of producing, developing and presenting information, in both written and oral format, to support and inform management decisions.
