G&H | Phoenix is based at the heart of the North Wales optical manufacturing district in St. Asaph. As an experienced, established and trusted precision optical firm, we provide a full start to finish in-house service from raw glass slab material, cut discs and mouldings, right through to polished and coated finished optical parts, prisms and assemblies. As a CNC Operative, you will play a crucial part of the precision optic manufacturing process.

**Main duties of the role include;**
- Set, program and operate computer-controlled optical grinding and polishing machines
- Work with 5-axis, 3-axis, and 2-axis Milling centres
- Read, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs
- Conduct first-off inspections using handheld gauges, micrometres, verniers, and optical metrology equipment (with training)
- Work with a variety of crystalline and non-crystalline materials
- Ensure tight tolerances (+/- 0.005 microns down to nanometres) are met
- Manage both high and low-volume batch work
- Maintain production documentation (route cards, timesheets, traceable data logs, etc.)
- Adhere to ISO and MIL standards
- Follow company policies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- A working knowledge of setting, programming and operating CNC machinery
- Experience in a similar manufacturing industry (desired)
- Critical thinker and problem solver
- Positive and results-oriented attitude
- Punctual, adaptable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Attention to detail with a methodical approach
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in English, Maths, and Science
- Understanding of manual handling and strong organisational skills
