We are excited to offer this opportunity for a Band 4 Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant role, working with our South Gloucestershire Physiotherapy team, based at Cossham Hospital.
You will be responsible for assisting the team in providing a high standard physiotherapy service by implementing treatment programmes using a range of exercises and physiotherapy techniques as delegated by a registered professional
You will be required to organise and run exercise groups under the supervision of registered clinicians
This role is also responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to the team.
To carry a caseload and implement treatment plans as delegated by a registered physiotherapist assessing patient progress and reporting back to the physiotherapist; this may be in a variety of settings without direct supervision of a physiotherapist.
To progress/regress exercise programmes as appropriate, recognising your scope of practice and liaising with the referring physiotherapist as appropriate.
To provide appropriate holistic advice to patients to promote self-management and improve prognosis.
To deliver groups, including ESCAPE-Pain, with a group of patients, with or without the direct supervision of a physiotherapist;
In the absence of the delegated physiotherapist to be the first point of contact for any enquiries, which would then be escalated to an appropriate registered professional as required;
To be responsible for the issuing, ordering and training in the safe use of physiotherapy equipment and aids for patients.
