We have an opportunity for a Patient Safety Partner to join their team of staff.
This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
**Applicants should meet the following criteria**:
- You do not need any specific qualifications or experience to undertake the role but you must be driven to want to make a difference to the safety and quality of patient care, and to objectively consider healthcare issues from an unbiased patient’s perspective.
- As a PSP you will be required to attend monthly Clinical Governance Committee meetings and to contribute to projects where championing a patient, carer or lay (non-expert) perspective on safety and quality is considered appropriate.
- Working with a wide range of clinical colleagues and organisations, you will have the confidence and skill to debate your points in a thoughtful way and the flexibility to arrive at shared recommendations on a variety of issues.
**Duties of this role include**:
- It is important that you participate and join key conversations and meetings within the group that address patient safety.
- You will challenge us, and the way that we work, and be our critical friend. You will provide a questioning approach to the information shared at the committees and meetings.
- You will be representing the patient’s/family’s voice to ensure the committee/meeting members are ‘walking in the patient’s shoes’ and putting patients first.
- You will support in co-designing the developments of patient safety initiatives.
- You will comply with all relevant policies and maintain confidentiality.
