We are looking for a lively, enthusiastic person to join our friendly and hardworking family run business at our Norwich branch as a Trade Counter / Yard Assistant.

You’ll be on the front line dealing with our with our customers that come into our Branch. As part of the branch team, you will play a vital role in our continued success, providing a first class service.

**What will I be doing?**

Not one day is the same as the next in AJW branch life, but here are a few pointers;
Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it’s essential that you can help deliver the highest standards of service - the key thing is to be helpful and friendly at all times, you will likely get to know our customers on a first name basis.
- You will be based on the counter, and first point of contact for all customers. You will be processing our customers’ orders, preparing quotes, keeping the shop floor clean and tidy, and putting away any stock that comes in.
- You will also book in our supplier deliveries.
- Part of your role will be based outside, assisting the yard foreman processing our customer orders, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
- You will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.
- Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment
- Be the first contact for all trade counter customers.
- Answer and deal with any sales telephone enquiries efficiently.
- Deal with any walk in customers in the appropriate manner.
- Process any sales order’s as received for orders whilst consulting with collegues.
- Ensure orders are booked for delivery on the correct date where specified.
- Chase up all quotations within the relevant time scale to ensure optimum success.
- Responsible for providing general administration support to the branch manager,
- Assist in flling all sales records.
- Coordinate and prepare any samples or information / brochures required by customers.

Experience in the Roofing Industry is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.

The ideal applicant will be the first point of contact for customers visiting the trade counter and so must have a focus on customer service. They will be a team player but also have the initiative to work on their own. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills as they will be in contact with customers daily. With attention to detail being key due to the nature of the business.

Pay: £18,600.00-£25,000.00 per year

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
