**JOB PURPOSE**

To work as a member of a team providing a high standard of service to the public.

To assist children and families who suffer with learning and psysichal diablities.

**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
- To assist in providing a stimulating environment which gives care, control and nurture appropriate to safeguarding and promoting the emotional and physical wellbeing of the young people resident at Olive House Children’s home. This will involve working closely in partnership with the family of the young person and with others.
- In collaboration with others to help assess the needs of young people referred to or placed in the unit; to effect an early return home or a move on to an appropriate longer-term placement which may include remaining at Olive House.
- To provide excellent role models for young people through reflective and consistent care, supporting the team ethos, which is caring, supportive, non-judgemental, providing a powerful advocate for young people to promote their rights and their voice.
- To work as a shift co-ordinator, planning the actions required and keeping an overview of the needs of the young people on a shift
- To undertake sleeping-in and shift duties, including working weekends, and Bank Holidays
