Insurance Investment Strategist

**The Role**
We are seeking an Investment Strategist to join our Investment Solutions team in London that sits within Global Product. In this role you will support senior members of the team to design and deliver bespoke investment solutions for investors (internal Aviva and external insurance clients).

The role requires understanding of financial, technical, and regulatory concepts across assets, liabilities, and capital requirements for insurance companies. A large part of the role is to assist in solving new problems on an ongoing basis, by using existing knowledge and skills, or by quickly building knowledge, skills and expertise in new areas.

**Responsibilities**
- Support development of investment solutions for insurance clients using instruments across a wide range of asset classes (public, private and derivatives).
- Support asset allocation and other relevant research that drives investment decisions.
- Undertake client specific analyses and translate client desired outcomes into workable investment solutions.
- Build detailed technical knowledge and understanding of insurers' investment activity, regulatory environment, and the servicing models.
- Build in-depth knowledge and understanding of Aviva Investors' key clients, in particular Aviva Group's insurance entities. Become the point person to pick queries from Aviva insurance entities in the first instance.
- Work in partnership with key stakeholders, including sales, client relationship, and the consultant relations teams to ensure clarity and consistency of information and services to clients and consultants, as well as gathering feedback and market information.
- Ensure all output (internal or external) is of high quality and produced in a timely manner.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in insurance solutions, ALM or LDI roles.
- Strong understanding of Solvency II and insurance accounting regulations.
- Understanding of key asset classes (public, private and derivatives) and their role in backing insurance liabilities.
- Understanding of the investment and hedging strategies of insurance companies, and how these are influenced by the type of liability, capital requirements, and other constraints.
- While professional qualifications are not essential, the role will suit someone who has recently completed or is close to completing CFA or actuarial exams.
