**Trainer/Assessor Job Description**
**_The role is currently approx 70% WFH and 30% face to face across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire_**
Your role as a trainer is to contribute to the overall strategic plans of the organisation. As a Trainer/Assessor at SPS Training Solutions you will work across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas. SPS Training also has centre locations in Hatfield, Bedford and Hertford. Your base location will be Head Office, Bowmans House, Stevenage; however, you may be required to work from any of our other centres or outreach locations as and when required. (There may also be the opportunity to work from home whilst the situation limits us otherwise). You will be delivering a mixture of accredited learning courses and some community learning course that have been designed to meet the local needs of customers in Hertfordshire.
**Job role and responsibilities**:
- A good understanding of the development and delivery of learning programmes that meet the needs of learners and the local community or employer need
- You will be responsible for delivering a clear and defined induction process to all learners to ensure they know how to stay safe and the expectations of them while learning with us
- The ability to utilise multiple and diverse teaching and learning strategies
- Experience in the delivery of training in a group setting that engages learners through an in-depth, differentiated and tailored learning experience
- The ability to assess learner needs and set robust plans and targets to meet their needs on an individual basis and manage their progression
- Able to monitor and support learners to complete their training courses in a timely manner and to meet internal deadlines and targets for completion
- Support learners to achieve outcomes that include jobs, training and other agreed progression opportunities
- Manage data relating to individual learner targets including working with other colleagues to ensure the onward progression of learners
- Plan and deliver Functional Skills testing as required and deliver English and Maths in a group setting to learners of varying abilities where necessary
- An understanding of curriculum design and different assessment methods used across a range of programmes and the ability to adapt to new qualifications as required
- To prepare and develop additional learning materials to stretch learners and challenge any more able learners
- Have a proven understanding of teaching and learning delivery methods including the use of online platforms such as google classrooms and MS Teams
- The ability to manage a classroom and deal with difficult behaviour with a firm but professional approach
- You will need to maintain a record of your own continuous professional development to maintain your own competency in your role, this will include understanding your responsibilities under Ofsted guidance

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to engage and inspire people of all backgrounds
- Able to motivate some of the more disengaged people
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Smart, professional, accountable and responsible approach to work
- Experience of classroom and online based delivery
- Strong written communication skills to enable professional contact to be maintained with learners
- Ability to work independently at outreach locations and manage your group of learners
**Essential Skills**:
- **Teaching Qualifications PTLLS/AET/TAQA or equivalent**:
- Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy
- Have an up to date knowledge of safeguarding/Prevent, Equality and Diversity, British Values, Health and Safety and other legislation as it impacts on learning
- Full car licence and use of vehicle with Business insurance
**Additional Information**
You will need to complete an enhanced DBS check as you will be working with vulnerable adults and SPS Training will need to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of both staff and learners.
You will need to provide appropriate Right to work documentation.
You will be asked for any certificates required to validate your professional qualifications where appropriate.

**Salary**: £120.00-£150.00 per day
