Theatre Porter

Spire Shawfair Park Hospital are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join our established team as a Theatre Porter. This role supports both patients and employees throughout the hospital. This is a great first step in the door to a private hospital environment, specifically within a Theatre setting.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- To transfer, transport and guide patients safely around the theatre and beyond, as required, in a caring, sympathetic and professional manner.
- To collect and dispose of refuse, both domestic and clinical (full infection control training will be provided)
- Driving: You will be transporting items, documents between hospitals and employees in the area.
- To ensure the maintenance of good working relationships, communications and team work in the hospital and within the department.
- Manual Handling '“ There may be times where you will need to move furniture across different departments of the hospital.
- To assist with the general security of the theatre and associated grounds '“ as well as reception/switchboard duties as required.
- Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.

**Who we're looking for**
- Strong Customer Service experience '“ You will be dealing with patients face-to-face where you will be escorting them around the hospital, so a background in building a good rapport is required.
- Manual Handling '“ There is a physical element of this role where you may sometimes need to move furniture/hospital beds across the hospital to different rooms and departments.
- Whilst no formal qualifications are required you must be able to communicate with other members of staff and patients clearly and your personal appearance must be of a high standard, expected in a professional healthcare environment.
- Full UK, clean driving licence is essential.
- Ability to assimilate different customer requirements and prioritise critical deliverables
