**Qualifications**:
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

**Experience**:

- Experience of Food Preparation for the relevant client group
- Good communication skills
- Team player

**Key Responsibilities**

To work with the document ‘Safer Food - Better Business’

Assist in the preparation and serving of meals

Prepare dining room tables for meals as appropriate

Ensure all food preparation surfaces and floor areas are clean and free from food particles

Operate dishwasher to allow a constant supply of clean crockery / cutlery

Ensure sinks are clean and free from blockage

Undertake additional tasks as directed by the Chef / Cook

**Communication**:
Participate in staff and client meetings as required

**Training and Development**:
Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence

Attend mandatory training days / courses, on or off site as and when required

**Health and Safety**:
Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas

Report immediately to the Registered Manager or person in charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a client, colleague, self or another

**General**:
Promote and ensure the good reputation of the care home at all times

Ensure that all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties

Notify the Head Chef or the person in charge, as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty, and also on your return to work from all periods of absence

Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you

To be up-to-date with the company staff handbook
