Catering Assistant

Job Summary We have a vacancy in the catering department for a Catering Assistant with flexibility to work in all areas of catering. The duties for this post will include providing daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment and utensils, supporting the kitchen team with kitchen cleanliness, removing waste regularly to the designated areas and ensuring a high standard of personal and general cleanliness and hygiene to comply with statutory regulations. You will be required to work in very cold and very hot conditions. You will be working 5 days from 7 and the hours of work will mainly be 9am till 15:30pm, working every other weekend however we require the successful candidate to be flexible for the needs of the service. Main Duties of the Job We are looking for a motivated individual with initiative to assist in a very busy area, with good communication skills and be able to follow written and verbal instructions and follow strict hygiene regulations. Some knowledge of HACCP and COSHH would be advantageous. Supporting the department’s cleanliness and hygiene, supporting the delivery of meals for patient and satellite units, loading trolleys and general cleaning duties.
