Senior Rotational Assistant Technical Officer

We are looking for Senior Assistant Technical Officer(s) to join our friendly, forward thinking Pharmacy Team. You will have a friendly and approachable personality, be willing to work as part of a team and committed to providing the best possible service for patients. You will need to be self-motivated with good communication & interpersonal skills. To qualify for this position you will require NVQ L2 in pharmacy services or equivalent and good IT skills. This is a full time post and the post holder will be required to work weekends and Bank Holiday as part of a rota **Main duties include**: - The post holder (s) will spend 12 months in each of the following rotations, Dispensary Services and Distribution/Stores. They will be working closely with the section heads to assist in the safe, efficient running of each section including Audits, and quality improvement projects to ensure high and effective standards are maintained. This is a supervisory role where training and mentoring of Assistant Technical Officers is required. - There will be core duties in both the rotations such as ward top-up, audits and training &management of junior assistants - To carry out daily stock checks in the hospitals ‘out of hours drugs room. To retrospectively dispense, via the pharmacy computer system, any medicine that has been taken out of the room for patient use, ensuring accurate dispensation to individual patient/ward area. To replenish the out of hours drugs room with replacement in date drug stocks, labelled for discharge, as appropriate. - To assist in the sorting and checking of all returned pharmaceuticals prior to recycling or disposal.
