Retail Supervisor

We are looking for an ambitious and creative Retail Supervisor to join our Retail team in our Farm Shop. You will be hands on with overseeing the day to day running of our retail department, from serving customers on the tills to merchandising the products and researching and contacting new suppliers. This role is perfect for someone with a flare in retail, looking for a new challenge to develop the retail area of our business.

Oakes Farm Shop is a family-owned farm shop situated in West Midlands (based in between Solihull and Coventry). We comprise of a retail shop, butchery, delicatessen, bakery and a thriving café.

**The position will be five days a week and will including weekend work.**

**Duties to include**:

- Research new suppliers/products and developing the retail department
- Merchandising throughout the shop, creating displays and promotions to attract customers
- Stock order and control, restocking, waste minimisation and margin optimisation.
- Assemble and dismantle shop displays
- Set up and arrange merchandise displays to attract customers and promote sales
- Ensure that products are properly stocked and organised on shelves and tables
- Create and maintain stunning seasonal and Christmas displays
- Provide training and development plans for the shop team
- Create 4-weekly rotas and deal with any HR issues efficiently
- Encourage excellent customer service at all times with all shop assistants, leading by example
- Assist the team with serving customers on the tills and answering any customer queries
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate the best deals
- Work in line with the business’ health & safety and food hygiene standards
- Ensure the open and close down of the department is done to company standard

**Person Specification**

**Essential**
- Experience in a supervisory/management role.
- Experience in a retail environment
- Excellent customer service
- Experience in merchandising.
- A good work ethic and flare to develop a retail department.
- Excellent communication skills
