We are a small, friendly, innovative, Bilingual team made up of deaf and hearing staff. We have strong links with the National Deaf CAMHS teams within South East/ North /South West and Central England and frequently come together for training, service development, research and audit purposes.
**About our locations**:
The National Deaf CAMHs team -Cambridge/East of England service, is based in Bottisham Village sharing the same site with the local GP surgery. Bottisham is a pleasant, residential location just outside of Cambridge city centre with easy access to A14, M11. There is also a bus service which serves surrounding villages and links to Cambridge Station. This specialist team provides outreach support covering the East of England.
Tooting (Wandsworth)
Our Trust headquarters is located within the impressive grounds of Springfield University Hospital in Tooting and we also operate in nearly 100 other locations throughout the UK. This is easily accessible via the Northern Line (Tooting Bec Station) and via private transport. The Trust provides subsidised parking fares for all our substantive staff. Our main site is located immediately next to Tooting High Street where staff can easily access a range of shops, cafés and restaurants.
The successful applicant will join National Deaf Child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS ) in Cambridge, East of England. The post holder will be able to work autonomously and co work with colleagues who are Deaf and hearing team members e.g. Consultant psychiatrist, Art Psychotherapist, Clinical and Counselling Psychologist, Deaf family support worker, Team Manager. The post holder would also be expected to work closely with other professionals within the network providing a service to deaf children and young people, and their families/carers, across the South East region of England, from a range of community settings including virtual and face to face contact.
They will have the responsibility to work as part of a team carrying out the following tasks:
Work within a multidisciplinary team and autonomously delivering evidence based therapeutic interventions to deaf child and their families/ or hearing children of deaf parents. Work alongside colleagues whilst completing specialist /general assessments to include formulation and risk assessment. The postholder will hold a small clinical caseload and maybe required to care coordinate. The post holder would be expected to have innovative, flexible and adaptable approach to their work.
Contribution throughout team meetings is essential providing input within their specialist field. The post holder would be expected to possess excellent communication and written skills as they would be expected to contribute to reports, as well as provide guidance and knowledge to the network around the child and the family.
All post holders would be expected to follow trusts lone working and complete mandatory training, travel is a requirement of the role so car driver with valid licence and insurance with business miles would be desirable.
