**The role**:
Reporting to the Director of IT, each Technical Lead plays an integral role in the development, delivery, maintenance, and support of our insurance-based systems, both public-facing and internal. This role focuses primarily on the systems owned by the team. Technical Leads contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from design to delivery and ongoing support and maintenance. They are also responsible for driving not only the technical vision of the business, but also the vision of their own teams and products, leading the team to realise and deliver on these visions. Responsibilities include:

- You’ll be responsible for setting the technical and product direction of your team alongside the product owner.
- Lead and build a team of engineers around a cross functional product team, mentoring them and helping them grow in their careers.
- Evaluate the current state of play; influence on large Tempcover technical direction and set the standard for the team you’ll be working in
- Use your technical knowledge and expertise to help build a better Tempcover, and bringing people along with you on that journey
- Write code that follows our patterns and practices and fit for purpose.
- Automation testing of built features.

- Experience managing teams and engineers within agile teams (large or small) and aspiration to continue to do so.

- A good understanding of development methodologies and design patterns.
- Experience working in a Cloud computing environment.
- Experience in containerisation.
- Experience using IaC.


**Location & Hybrid working**
- This role will sit in our Fleet office 3 days per week (or more if you prefer).
