The Global Travel Safety & Security Advisor (GTSS) is responsible for providing guidance and advice to Committees at board level in order to set the strategic approach to fulfilling legal, contractual, and moral Duty of Care. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of Itad’s safety & security management framework and strategy, alongside translating Itad’s policies and procedures into working practices that are embedded across the company.

The GTSS Advisor will continue to develop and grow a team that are responsible for managing travel & security support on behalf of Itad. This team will be required to respond to the changing scope of Itad deployments as the company evolves in line with its strategic objectives, leading to more deployments to high & extreme risk areas. Global Safety and Security team is a cross-organisational theme that provides input at operational and strategic levels, from board members, to individual travellers. Maintaining excellent communications with the rest of the organisation, generating awareness, insight, and engagement in safety & security issues and practices.

**Nature & Scope**

The work this post will undertake is diverse in its nature and you will need to be able to adapt to a wide variety of tasks, whilst being able to prioritise tasks effectively.

The Global Travel Safety & Security Advisor will have four main areas of responsibility:
**1. Facilitation of international and national travel within Itad’s corporate risk appetite**

Working in collaboration with the Travel Assistant, Project Officers and, Project Managers, the GTSS advisor should oversee all travel taking place on behalf of Itad, ensuring deployments occur in line with policies and procedures including risk assessment, mitigation measures, liaison with travellers and providing out of hours support. This also includes processes pre, during, and after deployment. The role will ensure Itad personnel have access to appropriate Safety & Security training as specified in Itad’s Travel Management Procedures. Training courses should be reviewed and approved based on course content, teaching styles, experience of trainers, and value for money.

The advisor will set Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and act as the main point of contact with any third party providers that Itad frequently engages with when addressing safety and security risk (such as travel insurers, commercial security providers, and independent consultants), and closely monitor objectives set or the effectiveness of their services to ensure value for money.

**2. Development & implementation of efficient and effective systems and processes to support growth**

In order to function effectively, systems and processes need to be embedded within the company. The GSS advisor will work closely with Project Managers, and the Project Management Unit to ensure cross-company working and understanding with regards to Itad’s Safety & Security framework.

The GTSS advisor is responsible for ensuring the company has a trained team of primary and secondary core members, with additional external members that would be drawn on for support. This includes leading aspects of Itad’s Crisis Management Team (CMT) through regular workshops to ensure its members receive appropriate engagement and training.

**3. Strategic development of Itads GSS **framework & **policy**

Working in collaboration with Itad’s retained specialist security advisors, ILS, the GTSS advisor is required to ensure Itad’s GSS framework is up-to-date, relevant, and fit for purpose. Additional resource will be drawn from within the GSS team, including support from the Travel Assistant who will assist in dissemination and consistent communications to the company and our key external consultant suppliers.

Working with Itad’s Audit, Risk, and Resilience Committee (ARRC), and drawing support from external security advisors, the GTSS advisor will be in regular contact with ARRC for bid approval, risk appetite review, country as
