We are looking to appoint a Quality Specialist into our team at the **Scunthorpe Rod Mill**. Reporting into the **Rods Quality Manager** the position exists within the **Rods Technical Team** to promote automotive management system best practices in line **with IATF 16949:2016**, assisting with approval maintenance and continual improvement. The job holder will have the potential to interface with all areas of the rods business both through the auditing processes and influencing change/development projects on current practices in line with standard requirements and business processes.
The role will also provide guidance **on ISO 9001, IATF 16949** and associated core tools and philosophies advocating such principles as the risk-based process approach, customer (specific) requirements and thorough and effective problem solving and corrective action.
Our Wire Rods business works in partnership with a **diverse range of customers** across a number of different sectors. Whilst automotive is our largest share of the market and focus within the mill we also work with customers in the **oil and gas, construction, consumer products, mining, fencing and industrial wire segments.**
You will **support quality improvement** objectives/parameters by conducting various audit activities (QMS, Product, Process) and developing a knowledge of business processes and their effectiveness.
**What we need to know about you**
The role requires someone good at developing relationships with a wide mix of teams and can express the importance of quality in a passionate and enthusiastic way.
Most crucially this role requires an ambitious change agent, who has the perseverance, ambition and passion to motivate others to embrace the value of quality to the Business throughout, and take an active role in driving quality improvement activities.
The below Key Skill/Experience is desirable but not essential for the role:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline
- An understanding of Quality System standards (ISO 9001/IATF 16949).
- Audit experience of various audit types (Certification, Product, QMS, Process)
- Awareness and preferably formal training in FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA and SPC.
- Must possess good analytical and problem solving skills and statistical ability.
- Computer skills utilising MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- High level of effective planning and organizational abilities
