Operational Lead - Early Intervention in Psychosis Service.
Cornwall Mental Health Services are focused on developing into an outstanding service. We are working towards a complete transformation of services in Cornwall in line with national plans to create integrated and collaborative health and social care systems. Our mission is to provide a safe and empowering environment steeped in a caring, culture of acceptance, curiosity, and empathy. We are building a team of highly motivated people who are keen to influence change and culture within adult mental health services in Cornwall.
This post offers you the opportunity to inspire & design how we increase accessibility for those in need of help from specialist Early Intervention in Psychosis services. It means in this post you can be creative, innovative and it encourages you to think outside and around the box in further designing & developing this service. You will be enabled to be part of a Southwest network for best practice and will share key learning across the network. We will support you to lead on driving forward key national changes for how Early Intervention services develop in line with key national drivers and give you the confidence to manage and lead your own service. You will need to work with the existing leadership team to consider how we transform community services to meet the needs of our local community and realise the ambitions of the long-term plan and community mental health framework.
- To set, implement and evaluate clear, achievable and measurable objectives for the service
- To be responsible for the effective management of operational services and resources within the designated service areas, including budgets and staffing
- To initiate and implement programmes to achieve strategic changes and improvements to services and systems
- To deputise when required in the absence of the Operational Manager and delegate appropriately to clinical and administrative staff
- To effectively risk manage at team level accident/incident reporting, assessing and controlling risks and ensuring residual risks are added to the Risk register
- To ensure that there is a ‘research culture’ within the services, encouraging an R&D culture to effect services changes
- To develop multi-disciplinary teams with appropriate skills, mix around agreed geographical footprints to ensure that contract, quality, financial and patient experience requirements are met whilst engaging and supporting multi-sector co-ordination and collaboration at varying levels across locality.
- To meet key performance, quality and personal targets including:
- Continuous improvement of patient experience and outcomes measured through KPIs.
- Improved staff engagement and performance measured through staff FFT, staff survey and HR metrics.
- Achieving budget and financial target and making efficiencies where required
We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.
We are a people organisation and people matter to us. As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.
Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.
We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.
Just over 532,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
