**Housekeeper - your role**

We are looking for friendly and approachable, self-motivated, out-going team members who will relish helping our students have the best experience during their time with LIV

Working in a team of 2 Housekeepers at our stunning LIV student residence in Sheffield, you have responsibility for assisting the General Manager and the team by providing pro-active and reactive housekeeping support to a high standard. The role includes ensuring the cleanliness of:

- all stairwells and corridors
- lifts
- communal areas
- common rooms
- laundry room
- gym
- Show flat
- external areas
- staff offices, staff kitchen and toilet
- Regular cleaning of student kitchens and living areas

Critical to the success of this role is a close working relationship with the team. It is essential that you have the ability to work on your own as well as part a team and can communicate effectively at all levels.

As this role requires (either fully or partially) lone working, effective communication for handover and the ability to evaluate and manage situations practically and level-headedly as and when they arise is an essential part of this role, escalating emergency issues to the GM where appropriate.

**_KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES_**
- Cleaning in line with activities highlighted
- Responsibility for all cleaning materials and products issued in relation to COSHH.
- Manage the stock-take of the cleaning equipment and chemicals and advise the GM of stock orders required.
- Ensure the safe storage of all equipment and chemicals in accordance with law, procedure and MBWA.
- Keep the site grounds clear and free of rubbish as necessary. Litter picking when required.
- Additional duties as required to assist with the running of the property, such as parcel/post management, purchase and movement of stock, and other reasonable duties as required, in conjunction with the relevant manager.
- During the summer/turn-around period, all staff are required to be involved to help get the site ready for summer business and/or the new arrivals, this may include physically demanding activities, such as helping to ‘lift and shift’ furniture, domestic equipment and appliances associated with a large accommodation environment.

**_PERSON SPECIFICATION _**
- Minimum: Educated to NVQ level 3 and/or GCSE level 4-9 standard or equivalent.

**Experience**
- Proven experience in Housekeeping in a large building or office block
- Previous experience in a customer facing role
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation

**Circumstances**
- 7am - 4pm or 10am - 7pm (job share also available)
- Flexibility and willingness to work additional/flexible hours as determined by the needs of the business.
- Able to work days and alternative weekends including bank holidays
- Able to work at key periods throughout July, August and September, as requested by the General Manager, to assist with the intake of students.
- Able to attend meetings and occasional training sessions, which may be conducted outside of your normal working hours; travel within the UK and possibly overnight accommodation.
