We are looking to recruit a **Team Leader** to join our team.
This is a full-time - 40 hours per week
Early, lates and long days, alternative weekends, Plus 1 sleep-in required per week
£13.70per hour
Weir End House & Woodpecker Lodge are located close to the market town of Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire. Weir End House offers residential support for 11 people, Woodpecker Lodge offers residential support for 6 people, both services support people who are on the autism spectrum, and have a learning disability or a mental health diagnosis. We want the people we support to live a healthy, happy and enjoyable life. Our team support them to be independent, both in the home and when they are out in the community. The homes are within the same grounds and are located just off a dual carriageway, approximately four miles from the town centre.
It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

As a **Team leader,** you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of our residents and tenants. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

- Supervise and support a team in the delivery of person centred care. Encouraging people to live as independently as possible, while supporting them in building their life skills and achieving goals at their own pace
- Supporting tenants in a person centred way, which can include assisting with personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living skills, including maintenance of their tenancy
- Acting as a positive role model providing supervision, guidance and professional development
- Planning of staff shifts and rotas and completing daily administration of electronic and paper records with the involvement of the individual as appropriate
- Supporting staff and the individual in maintaining their health and wellbeing, which may involve liaising with other specialists
- Supporting the team in encouraging the individual’s participation and integration in the local community, through activities and interests that meet their ambitions and help them achieve outcomes in their chosen way
- Promoting an innovative approach to work and a positive culture, embedding the REACH standards in everyday practice
- Ensuring all colleagues comply with company policies and procedures

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Previous experience in a similar role or setting would be advantageous
- Ability to lead and supervise a team
- Excellent interpersonal skills and resilience
- Demonstrating initiative and the ability to work in a person centred way
- Ability to work alongside people to develop their potential and skills
- Empathy, understanding and patience
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
- Competent in verbal and written English
- Willingness to work towards a Level 3 social care qualification with Priory
