**Working Style**:
You’ll be based in the Borough for 3 days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community as part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents’ lives.

**What you’ll be doing**:
As Strategic Transformation Lead, you’ll take the reins on a high-profile, cross-borough project to deliver better housing and support for care leavers. This means leading from the front - shaping the vision, coordinating delivery, and ensuring we build services and spaces that meet young people’s real needs. You’ll lead a cross-functional team and work with a wide range of partners to develop high-quality in-house homes across Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea. From sourcing properties with corporate property teams to designing spaces with young people themselves, this is a hands-on role that blends strategic thinking with practical delivery.

You’ll also work closely with frontline social care teams to manage moves and transitions for young people. Alongside this, you’ll support the wider market of semi-independent accommodation, working with providers to develop new offers, improve pricing strategies, and strengthen the quality and value of placements.

This is a strategic role that requires a strong understanding of the bigger picture - political, financial and operational. You’ll ensure everything aligns with council priorities and that change is both sustainable and meaningful. You’ll be part of our Transformation and Innovation team, contributing to broader service improvement work across Children’s Services - including social care, education and digital delivery.

**What you’ll bring**

We’re looking for someone with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people, and a proven track record in delivering large-scale transformation. You’ll have strong experience managing cross-cutting projects in complex organisations, ideally with experience of leading capital projects in a children’s services or housing context.

You’ll be confident working with data, finances and performance metrics to influence decision-making. At the same time, you’ll know how to engage with a wide range of partners - from frontline practitioners to senior leaders - and bring people with you on the journey.

This role needs someone who is creative, strategic and solutions-focused. You’ll need excellent negotiation and influencing skills, as well as the ability to balance competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.
