We are looking for a Quality Manager to join our Manufacturing team at our Crewe Service Centre Site. Reporting into the Head of Operations and managing a small team of Quality Engineers you will provide leadership regarding manufacturing quality to ensure that products and services meet the quality standards required to minimize quality costs and maximize customer satisfaction, whilst ensuring that procedures and processes are adhered to.
You will be responsible for the management, implementation, operation, monitoring and review of the Quality Management System in accordance with business and customer needs, ISO 9001 and any other relevant standards. The role has responsibility for managing 3 Quality Engineers including allocation of responsibilities, training and professional development.
**Duties & Key Responsibilities**
**Manufacturing Quality**:
- Drive proactive quality assurance implementation across all functions of the business.
- Define, implement and produce relevant KPI's to determine current quality performance and non-quality costs.
- Lead the resolution of customer complaints, including Technical Investigation reports, 8D reports, containment and corrective action.
- Oversee and support the Quality Engineers with the analysis of product conformity and non-conformance data (minor/major rework, scrap, customer complaints etc.) to identify quality improvements through quality inspection and/or production processes.
- Oversee the management of the warranty process
**QMS**:
- Responsible for maintaining and continually improving the QMS to the current BS EN ISO 9001 standard and any other applicable standard.
- Introduce new systems, policies and procedures where appropriate.
- Conduct internal and external audits i.e. of Suppliers, to ISO9001 or other relevant standards/requirements, where required.
- Host external audits performed by customers and other external bodies.
- Support managers and employees in relation to quality processes and standards through briefings, training and instruction.
**Experience & Proven Ability Required**
- Previous experience in a high quality manufacturing environment
- Demonstrable experience of defining and maintaining an ISO9001 QMS
- Working knowledge of modern quality assurance tools and techniques
- Excellent people management and influencing skills
- Self motivated and able to work unsupervised in a high activity environment
- Pragmatic approach to problem solving
- Experience leading a small team
