Job description

BMH Tutors is a well established tutoring company in Birmingham and has been in business for many years. We provide tutoring for 11+ exam preparations, and Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English upto A Levels. We have upgraded our facility for A Levels Business, Geography and Computer Science clients also.

**Job Title: Biology and Chemistry Tutor (GCSE & A-Level)**

**Location**: In-Person

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Plan and deliver **structured and engaging** science lessons tailored to GCSE and A-Level curricula.
- Provide **clear explanations of complex concepts**, focusing on exam techniques and problem-solving skills.
- Assess students’ progress through **regular testing, feedback, and performance tracking**.
- Adapt lessons to cater to different learning needs, including students aiming for top grades and those needing extra support.
- Help students develop **effective revision strategies and exam techniques** to maximize their potential.
- Stay updated with curriculum changes and **exam board requirements** (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, etc.).
- Offer **constructive feedback and progress reports** to students and, if applicable, their parents/guardians.

**Requirements**:

- A **degree in a relevant science field** (Biology, Chemistry or a related discipline).
- Strong understanding of **exam board specifications** and mark schemes.
- Excellent **communication and interpersonal skills** to engage students effectively.
- Ability to **motivate and build confidence** in students.
- **Optional**A **teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS) or tutoring certification** is desirable.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Freelance, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: £11.50-£15.00 per hour
