It provides chilled, ambient, contract packaging, and bonded logistics services,as well as value-added services, such as online visibility and systems integration, pallet management, and supply chain management. - In house developer /system specialist in a chosen field - Provide technical knowhow on Data Platform projects to ensure the most appropriate and efficient solutions can be implemented. - Provide 3rd line support to the business where required - Work with internal colleagues and external suppliers to deliver high quality, robust solutions. Key Duties; - Design, development and implementation of technical components. - Responsible for design, development and management of high quality, efficient and effective solutions in Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL, Integration Services and related tools to support a number of large-scale data migration projects. - Provide database performance-tuning expertise for internal and third party systems primarily using Microsoft SQL Server and a small proportion on MySQL DB instances. - Deliver a robust, testable, repeatable framework of jobs and scripts for migrating data and producing reconciliation reports to confirm success or failure - Work within a professional, dynamic and creative agile development team to support delivery of a major program of change that will bring significant business benefit - Responsible for defining technical requirements, working with non-technical members of the Data Migration Team - Design, develop and maintain appropriately-scaled, effective solutions to support data cleansing, migration and reconciliation activity in Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL, Integration Services and related tools - Ensure design and development take into account all aspects of requirements - including data quality, customer experience, architecture, security & operations - Identify and solve performance bottlenecks in SQL Server database platforms - Manage MS SQL Server database environments that support data migration and backups and recoveries in test environments - Only use approved technologies when developing systems and adhere to department, industry and regulatory standards - Provide support for your solutions, including analysis, issue tracking and resolution. Take pro-active ownership of support tasks and see them through to completion - Demonstrate a logical and structured approach to time management and task prioritisation. ?Work within project timelines and budgets. Be able to organise own time, schedule tasks for completion and deliver work to that schedule - Creation and maintenance of support documentation to enable efficient handover of new technical components to support functions, including training where required. - Support / "Business as usual" - Provide 3rd line support where required. When issue cannot be resolved by both 1st Line (Service Desk) and 2nd Line (Applications Support) - Provide 3rd line technical support for user and client queries debugging system solutions / processes where necessary. **Qualifications** - Excellent working knowledge of the functionality and capabilities of MS SQL Server 2017, with experience in using SQL Server 2000 onwards an advantage. - SQL Developer with excellent T-SQL and experience of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Service (SSRS) and knowledge of SQL Server Analysis services (SSAS) an advantage. - Good experience of large-scale data migration projects with multiple data sources and familiar with Extract-Transform-Load patterns and processes - Strong background in data modelling, data management and data manipulation, code management and version control - Experience of Data Warehousing implementations ideally follow Kimball methodology - More than 5 years’ experience of SQL programming - In depth experience of performance-tuning SQL Server database code and environments - Able to understand business requirements and develop SQL Server solutions that work within the technical boundaries - Self-motivated and willing to "do what it takes" to get the job done - Capable of reasoning and thinking through problems and developing desired solutions, independently or with others as required - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills - Experience of the full software development life cycle including design, testing, deployment, and documentation and support activities ? - Relevant University qualification and/or appropriate Microsoft certification - Knowledge of Visual Studio and experience of C# programming would be an advantage. - Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills - Some knowledge of Azure solutions including SQL Azure - Practical knowledge of working with PowerBI and associated Data-Gateway **Additional Information** What you get in return: - Competitive basic salary and holiday entitlement - Bonus - Private Health Care - Life Assurance This is a fantastic opportunity to join a personable and growing business with plenty of opportunities and a great team.
