General Handyman/woman

We are looking for a handyman/woman to join their dynamically growing new team.
- Carry out skilled DIY & general maintenance work involved in all aspects of hotel maintenance, both internal and external.
- The role would include general DIY and maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, replacement of tiling and flooring, and painting and decorating.
- This will also include regular checks and assessments of both private and public areas, liaising with housekeeping, performing jobs as and when they are required.

Day to day responsibilities
- installations, inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, replacement, repair and maintenance of building, fixtures and fittings.
- general plumbing
- general carpentry
- general tiling
- flooring work
- general painting & decorating
- basic electrical maintenance
- liaising with housekeeping, performing jobs as and when they are required.
- identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety
- carry out planned tasks in accordance with requirements
- carry out tasks within agreed time limits
- ensure compliance to agreed codes, legislation, and procedures including health and safety
- maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work
- report to Hotel Manager
- immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation or its customers to Hotel Manager
- meet your targets and contribute to those of the team as a whole
- contribute towards the smooth running of the team
- adhere to all organisation policies and procedures

From time to time you may be expected to be part of special projects as are reasonably required of your job role.

You need
- experience in this type of job role preferred
- requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade
- to demonstrate knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for this role
- skills in general DIY and maintenance including assessment, installation, repair and maintenance
- to be friendly and approachable
- to understand and deliver good customer service
- good attention to detail
- to demonstrate good time management and project management skills
