Senior Occupational Therapy Assistant

The post holder will work under the supervision of Occupational Therapists carrying out areas of the Occupational Therapy intervention plan delegated to them.
The post holder will carry out and observe outcomes for individual and group interventions which support the ongoing assessment and treatment of service user/patients around their Occupational Functioning in the areas of self-care, productivity and leisure within the department, in the service user/patients home or in community settings.
The post holder will provide timely and accurate written and verbal feedback for all interventions for review by the delegating Occupational Therapists to support the delivery and review of the overall Occupational Therapy intervention plan.
The post holder will be required to have effective interpersonal and communication skills to support the motivation and engagement of service user/patients and their carers and be able to work effectively as a member of the team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant to work within a team of Occupational Therapists, to contribute to the assessment and management of the occupational needs of patients referred to the Orthopaedic Occupational Therapy Service and contribute to the day to day running of the department.
The successful applicant will, where need arises, providing interventions and support to patients in the in-patient setting; assisting in the assessment and education of patients referred to the Occupational Therapy department and continue with interventions initiated by Occupational therapists as both In patients and community patients, as directed.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
This post is fixed term for 4 months due to - meet the needs of the service
