**About the Service/Department**
Based in our Age Activity Centre, the Café provides a safe space for people who feel they are moving towards or are experiencing a mental health crisis. People, aged 18+, from Southwest London (Kingston, Merton, Sutton, Richmond, and Wandsworth) can self-present at the Café. The Café will help people discuss the nature of the crisis they are experiencing, their strengths and the coping skills they could use to decrease their distress and promote their wellbeing.
In line with the principles of the Hestia Approach, we very much want to co-produce the design of this service with stakeholders including service users, staff, local organisations, and the commissioner (Southwest London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust). The Recovery Café will be a welcoming, friendly, and non-stigmatising environment offering food, activities, and quiet spaces to cater for individual needs. The Listening Place, the Trust’s Home Treatment Team, volunteers, and peer champions will support Hestia staff on site.
The Café will be open 365 days, from 6am - 11pm (Mon-Fri) and 12pm - 11pm (Sat/Sun & bank hols).
**About the role**
Responsibility for the day to day service delivery of specific elements of the Wandsworth Mental Health Rehabilitation and Recovery Accommodation and Support Service and Ousley Road Mental Health Service
Some other main responsibilities of the role include:
- To manage the financial accountability of the relevant element of the Wandsworth MH R&R Service and Keswick Road Service by operating within Hestia’s financial policies and procedures
- To make best use of Hestia’s property, equipment, and Information Technology at all times
- To work with service users to enable them to work alongside staff as partners in the delivery of services
**About you**
- Demonstrable experience of managing accommodation-based support services for people with mental health and complex needs_._, managing staff working with people who have complex issues and health problems and a strong understanding of Recovery approaches and co-production incl. knowledge of issues affecting those individuals
- Experience in recruitment, induction, supervision, motivation, appraisal, training, discipline and grievance issues
- Experience of performance monitoring and consistently high delivery standards and service user standards
- Ability and experience of managing budgets and keeping within budget
- Knowledge of Community Care, Mental health, Health and Safety and welfare benefits legislation (including welfare reform)
- Knowledge of methods of assessing, formulating, implementing, recording, reviewing and auditing service users’ support and safety assessment plans
- Good knowledge of MS Office systems, able to use computer systems including case management systems to create accurate reports and able to assess and audit staff ability to use computer systems to record client data accurately and to a high standard
- Ability to write and interpret reports
- Knowledge and demonstrable experience of housing pathways, housing legislation and housing management experience including income collection from personal service charges and Housing Benefit
- Excellent level of spoken and written English
