The **Product** function is responsible for creating and building a world class cross-border payments solution, supporting a portfolio of products and adding sustainable value to the business. This role will be responsible for:
- Producing clear, easy-to-read, and consistent documentation and supporting content for our clients
- Building comprehensive materials which will be utilised by internal stakeholders, including - but not exclusively - solutioning teams, to understand the product offering and new product functionality
- Work collaboratively with product and cross functional teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the products and define the documentation
- On-going maintenance of the product documentation and the document creation and maintenance processes
**What we expect of you, day to day.**
This role will report to the **Product Lead** and is responsible for the excellence of the Product documentation material, mainly external but also internal in some cases. It requires an experienced technical author who shall:
- Serve as a single point of contact for all documentation needs from the Product function
- Liaise with SMEs, Product team members and/or cross functional teams to obtain and keep up to date an in-depth understanding of their products and define the documentation required to support both our clients and Visa solutioning teams
- Produce clear, easy-to-read, and consistent documentation and supporting content
- Work with our developer portal team to define our content strategy, information architecture and take an interest in the UX of our clients.
- Produce developer documentation, Service guides, API specifications, File Specs, Notifications/ Reports and webhook reference material
- Bring a new perspective to actively improve our ways of working, processes, toolsets, etc. to produce documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally as needed to ensure documentation materials are updated
- Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback to support continuous improvement of the materials produced
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience in creating product documentation materials, including both guides and technical specs, ideally within the Product function of the Fintech, Financial services or Payment industries.
- A minimum of 2 experience in a similar role
- Technical background and/or comfortable upskilling in product and technical knowledge in order to create content independently
- Quickly understand complex technical solutions and concepts and can make them easily understandable
- Great intellectual agility and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across different disciplines both written and oral
- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapidly changing content and strategies
- Ability to challenge the status quo with confidence with an aptitude to seek out ways to improve
- Can break down siloes and has an interest in building a community, running workshops, and is passionate about technical writing
- Ability to forge good working relationships with key stakeholders and functional teams across Visa and Visa Payments Limited to improve collaboration and deliver better content, which is focussed on our user needs
- Ability to work independently, prioritise own workload to meet deadlines under pressure
- Working with REST APIs, XML, ISO20022, Postman, Swagger
- Fintech, financial services or Payment industry experience strongly preferable
- Experience working within the Product function strongly preferable
- Experience using Jira and Confluence preferable
