**Brief**
IT Support Engineer needed for a leading Defence organisation based in Corsham who are looking to employ an experienced and well-rounded IT Support Engineer that takes pride in their work and is capable of installing and maintaining computer hardware andsoftware systems to ensure an operational output
**What the role entails**:
Some of the main duties of the IT Support Engineer will include:
- Setting up and installing new computers, networks and software and follow work instructions to change components.
- Diagnosing and fixing network problems and hardware or software faults
- Maintaining inventories of hardware and software and requesting replacements from logistics chain
- Managing backups of servers, in case of data loss
- Keeping a record of issues and faults along with solutions, for future reference
- Installation of IT Hardware across the UK
- Maintain network connectivity and accurately record changes
**What experience you need to be the successful**IT Support Engineer**:
- Good technical background ideally with military knowledge and decent fault-finding skills
- SC Clearance and willing to go for DV.
- Experience using and administering Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy and DNS.
- Use and understanding of Microsoft Server O/S (ideally 2012R2 and Windows 10)
- Experience working/administrating virtualised environments (ideally VMware vCenter)
- Good experience working with different computer hardware
- Able to lift, shift and install heavy equipment
- Willing to travel and work in sometimes benign environments
- Willing to work outside normal working hours
It would be advantageous if you had experience of any of the following:
- Administering Microsoft Exchange Server 2016
- Administering Microsoft Skype Server 2016
- Administering Microsoft SharePoint Server
- Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2016
- Administering Trend DSM
- Administering VEEAM
- Administering SolarWinds
- Administering Amulet Hotkey Zero Clients (Using Zero Client Manager)
- Administering Meinburg NTP
- Administering VMware Horizon and AppVolumes
- Knowledge of ADFS
- Administering Microsoft Skype Server 2016
- Experience with Windows PKI ideally within Defence.
